Yearbook Club
The yearbook at Bear Creek is put together by fifth graders using software by the company TreeRing. Every year, we print copies that students can purchase in May. It meets after school for 75 minutes once a week from November through April with a teacher sponsor. Students learn about graphic design, photography, video editing, and uploading and managing files as they brainstorm themes and lay out the 40-page publication on a cloud-based site. The yearbooks features QR code links to video produced or acquired by the yearbook students, as well as to websites of interest to children.
This year, we had several events that took place after the book had gone to print, so the students decided to create some slideshows with music to showcase these events (along with a few other favorite memories). In some cases, students took all of the photographs as well. We hope you will enjoy this view of Bear Creek from our students' perspective.
